Who is on the water?

Getting started · Rule 10.1

Each team can list up to eight players for a game, with no more than five in the playing area at once.

How it works

A team may name up to eight players for a game, but no more than five may be in the playing area at one time. The others are substitutes. The referee ends the game if a team is reduced to two players.

In a game

Your sixth player waits in the substitute area until a teammate has left the playing area.

Remember

Count the players on the water before entering.
