When does a goal count?

Getting started · Rule 10.8

The whole ball must pass through the front plane of the opponents’ goal frame.

How it works

A goal is scored when the whole ball passes through the plane of the front of the opponents' goal frame. A goal may also be awarded if a defender's or substitute's paddle enters from behind and prevents it. The whole ball must cross; touching the plane is not enough.

In a game

A shot rebounds off the front of the frame and stays on the pitch: play continues; it has not crossed the goal plane.

Remember

Wait for the referee’s goal signal and whistle.
